Burkina Faso marked the graduation of 218 new military officers with the unveiling of ceremonial uniforms made entirely from the country’s traditional Faso Dan Fani fabric. Transitional leader Captain Ibrahim Traore presided over the ceremony at the Georges Namoano Military Academy, where newly commissioned second lieutenants received their rank insignia and took part in military drills and parade displays. The locally woven textile, a symbol of Burkina Faso’s cultural heritage, forms part of the government’s drive to strengthen national identity and support domestic industries. The graduating class includes officers from Burkina Faso and nine other African nations.”
