Addis Ababa – Spritual leader of The Sudan arrives in Ethiopia, 7th March 1966
The Imam El Hadi Abdurahman El Madhi, spiritual leader of The Sudan and leader of the Umma party, arrived in Addis Ababa recently for an eight-day visit as guest of emperor Haile Selassie.
The imam was welcomed at the airport by crown prince Merid Azmatch Asfa Wossen in the company of several ministers. The imam said that he would be talking with the emperor about Ethiopian and Sudanese relations, African Unity and the problems affecting world peace.
During his visit, the imam visited agricultural and industrial projects in the vicinity of Addis Ababa. He was accompanied by a 20-man delegation, including several cabinet ministers.
