🗓️ July 27, 1933 – Birth of His Eminence Abune Yesehaq (Laike Maryam Mandefro)📍 Adwa, Tigray, Ethiopia

Born into a distinguished Ethiopian family, Abune Yesehaq's father served as a judge in the Imperial Court of Emperor Haile Selassie I. Personally mentored by the Emperor, he was entrusted with the historic mission of bringing the ancient Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Faith to the Western Hemisphere. As Archbishop and Archimandrite, he established churches throughout the diaspora, baptized thousands of Rastafari and other faithful worldwide, including Bob Marley (Berhane Selassie), and later officiated Bob Marley's Ethiopian Orthodox funeral. His lifelong ministry forged an enduring spiritual bridge

On May 25, 1963, at the founding of the Organization of African Unity in Addis Ababa, I, Emperor Haile Selassie I, delivered a landmark speech advocating for unity, urging African nations to overcome differences to achieve common goals.

Key themes of my address included:
First, the Power of Unity
Second, Overcoming Diversity
Third, Interdependence

I closed the speech, saying: "If we fail, history will puzzle at our failure and mourn what was lost. We approach the days ahead with the prayer that we who have assembled here may be granted the wisdom, the judgment, and the inspiration which will enable us to maintain our faith with the peoples and the nations which have entrusted their fate to our hands."
