Rainbow flag flies outside US Embassy in Jamaica, AG says ‘disrespectful’
United States Embassy in Jamaica is right now flying the homosexual flag over Jamaica. One subscriber asked, “So when they slaughtered 77 people in Tivoli a few years ago what flag should have been flown? If there were 50 Blacks dead and 53 Blacks wounded, what flag would have been appropriately flown?
Jamaica’s attorney general says a decision to fly the rainbow flag at the U.S. Embassy following the Orlando gay nightclub massacre is an affront to the island’s anti-sodomy laws.
In her social media accounts, Marlene Malahoo Forte condemned the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history but says she found the Kingston embassy’s decision to fly the rainbow flag “disrespectful of Jamaican laws.”
The attorney general described this as her personal view.
On Tuesday, the U.S. Embassy said it is flying the rainbow flag “in solidarity with the victims who were targeted for being members of the LGBT community.” U.S. embassies across the globe have also been flying the pride flag following the Sunday violence.
Jamaica has longstanding laws criminalizing sex between men. Stigma against LGBT citizens is common.
One of our members sum it up quite well when she wrote “Dear Sheeple: The definition of homosexual is one who is SEXUALLY attracted to the same sex. It says nothing about loving it’s a mere SEXUAL attraction and preference of having sex only. How about women marching on Washington screaming “gimme backshot?!” Or brothers boycotting saying “I want it on top?” It would be disgraceful and immoral. So ask why do homosexuals find the need to scream the desire to have SEX?! Why can’t I see a person as a nurse, a teacher, a man a woman. Why do I have to say gay man, gay teacher, gay doctor? This whole gay agenda is backfiring right up the ass…literally. I don’t care to hear about peoples SEXUAL preferences gay or straight!”
