Tiffany Haddish showed up to the 2018 Oscars representing her Eritrean roots and honoring her late father. Haddish, a 38-year-old comedian and actress, stunned the world in her zuria, a Tigrinya term used to describe an Eritrean or Ethiopian dress. “My father is from Eritrea and he passed away last year, and he said one day I would end up here and if I ever end up at the Oscars to honor my people, so I’m honoring my fellow Eritreans,” Haddish said.
