This is Sis. Fan’aye, Founder and Matriarchitect of RasTafari TV Network. I humbly issue this official correction concerning a previously published date within our Monthly TIMELINE Series. We had stated that His Imperial Majesty Emperor Menelik II was born on August 5, 1844. However, after deeper review and fact-checking, we acknowledge and correct the historical record: Emperor Menelik II was born on August 17, 1844, the same sacred day that the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey came into the world.
As someone deeply committed to accuracy, this oversight weighs on me. It is a reminder of how stretched I’ve become after decades of doing the heavy lifting for this movement. For over 30 years, I’ve served the mission of heritage preservation. RasTafari TV, launched with my children on July 23, 2014, was born out of our desire to preserve and publish our truth—raw, real, and reverent. We had no sponsors, no roadmap—only divine purpose and passion.
Yet even now, 11 years later, I still wear too many hats. The inbox is overflowing, my DMs are corked, and the phone rarely stops ringing. I’m deeply grateful for the trust, but I’m also stretched thin. This model is not sustainable, nor is it wise. I must shift from being the sole torchbearer to forming a collective flame.
So today, I’m not just correcting a date—I’m extending an invitation.
