From my experience, the importance of having a peaceful lifestyle is essential to the overall health of the mind, body and spirit. Stress is a killer of that!
What does it mean to have a peaceful lifestyle? and how can one achieve this? In today’s post we will find out how.
I believe one of the very first steps to living a peaceful life is with your mind-set.
How we think and see ourselves dictates everything, good or bad, in our life. It dictates the experiences we will have. To have a peaceful life, we must change our mind-set in order to bring change into our lives.
Well Najaam, how do I change my mind set?
Let’s understand something, we tend to carry too many Mental Luggage DAILY. As Erykah Badu’s song title ” Bag Lady ” says, we can carry up to 100 Mental Bags with us everywhere, everyday. You carry way too much stuff that its weighing your life down. These bags will get in your way and take over your life. When opportunities come your way, you can’t even catch it because of the bags in your way, holding you back.
Free your mind by letting go of all those bags. You must let it go, because these bags are actually things and situations of the past. Even if it happened an hour ago, let it go. This will open up space in your mind and brain. It’s like opening a window and letting fresh air in. This shift enables you to break this bad habit of carrying mental baggage.
Utilizing Meditation every day for at least 5 minutes a day will reset the mind and calm it down. The best time to start a meditation is when you wake up in the morning and before you get out of bed. Its symbolic. Before your feet touch the physical plane, stay in the spiritual plane for 5 minutes and visualize steadiness and happiness. See yourself accomplishing your goals and your dreams. Vividly paint the life you dream of, then after the 5 minutes, step into your painted dream with your feet touching the physical plane and begin your day.
