Shirley’s Briquettes – Fired Up by Clean Energy made out of farm waste

Shirley Lindo wants to replace charcoal with briquettes made out of farm waste. The owner of Outaearth Farm, located just oustide Kingston, is experimenting with different formulas for her alternative fuel – helped by the Climate Innovation Center in the Caribbean.

Ms Lindo was featured on the World Bank’s homepage as part of the highlight for International Women’s Day, which was celebrated on Sunday, March 8.
