Da General Official Video
Roberto Encarnacion JR. A/K/A “GENARAL” a young man striving to the top through music. Born and raised in the US Virgin Islands (St. Croix). I have been inspired with music from birth. Music has been in the family genes for a long time. The Genaral is here to make a statement in the new millennium. I have been singing from a tender age of 9 years old. In the late 90’s early 2000’s, was a time when many local VI artist starting coming forward. Producer Ras Sagie took me at the age of 11 and started a group called Mystical Youths which consisted of me and three of my other friends, Jah jah Mali, JR. Rebel and Junie. We came out with a hit single called Rasta School. We were also featured on the Eastbound PT2 compilation CD. Mystical youths were no longer in performance but the Genaral still had the love for music. So much inside, Ras Sagie demanded that I put it into music. In the late 2007, I decided to start putting some of my lyrics to reality. I was also featured on the EastBound PT3 compilation CD, which is the biggest various artist CD out of the VI. After meditating on today’s liverty, I started writing a few tunes. Once inspired by what is going on today, My album is called Chances Are. Chances are that one day I might be the one to turn around the wicked hearted. “Chances Are”, is a versatile CD for all ages. It has a little Rock, a little groove and a little scant involved.
My first CD release party for the “Chance Are album was April 2nd 2010, at the New Sand Bar on St. Croix. Following my CD release I performed live in concert at the Sort It Out show with G-Whiz. I have also performed live at the Peace Concert with Beres Hammond in 2010. I have also performed at numerous youth functions on St. Croix. In December 2010 I went on tour with my band “Iyah Lion”. While on tour, we performed in Philadelphia and Atlanta, GA. In January 2011 the first show for me and the band will be at the Bordeux Food Fair in St. Thomas, January 15th and 16th.
