Route Artlantique 2016 Documentary “African Workshop for Designers!”

+ WHAT IS ROUTE ARTLANTIQUE?

It is a laboratory looking to promote in a practical way an exchange of ideas and techniques between young european designers and local Senegalese artists. Route Artlantique is a passionate voyage across the heart of african creativity in it’s purest state, Senegal; a dynamic route to different parts of the country following the steps of art, giving young designers the opportunity to get to know and to share experiences with local artists at their workshops. Route Artlantique is an excellent way of getting a panoramic view of african culture.

+ TO WHOM IS IT DIRECTED?

Students of graphic, product design and fashion. With the ability to give and receive, receptive to adapt to different cultures and traditions, with the desire to incorporate in their portfolio a unique intercultural experience.

+ ACHIEVEMENTS

The first edition took place the last two weeks of July 2015 with the collaboration of Istituto Europeo di Design, 22 students and teachers from different european schools were able to learn and to work with prestigeous local artists through masterclasses and workshops that offered a diverse range from fashion to jewelry, music, creating and upcycling.
