Oh dhan Mata Gujri pote apni jihne hathi tore

blessed is, Mata Gujri , who with her own hands sent her grandchildren

Maut nu karan salama, ik dooje toh ho muhre

(they)salute death, by being next to each other

(they accept death, by pushing aside each other,

i.e. One says I will die, another will come forward and

say I will die too, such is their zeal, they do not fear even death)

Jaggi naa maa dadi da, roshan jagg kar jaange

Jaggi says, (they)will illuminate name of their grand-mother, in the whole world

(Jaggi is Jaggi Singh, the lyricist says, their act of sacrifice will illuminate the name of their grand-mother in the whole world by walking on the path she send them on to)
